Mehran Eskandari Torbaghan
Dr Mehran Eskandari Torbaghan is a lecturer in Infrastructure Asset Management at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Birmingham.
Mehran spent five years in the civil engineering industry, as a geotechnical engineer, before returning to academia to study a Master and then a PhD both at the University of Birmingham. He then worked as a research fellow at the University of Birmingham for around five years, before becoming a lecturer.
Mehran’s research portfolio and interest lie in the field of smart management of infrastructure systems, investigating the application of autonomous systems for condition monitoring and repair of urban infrastructure.

- A look at how lane rental schemes can be used to fund innovation and improve the quality of reinstatements.
- Discussing routes to improving the quality or accessibility of records about the location of underground pipes, wires, and other apparatus.
- Analysing the importance of quality control throughout the maintenance process and the need for strong regulation to ensure this.
